South Launceston property market

South Launceston's busiest market is house rentals, but only just, with 121 leases (down 0.8%) at $545 a week (up 12.4%) as of July 2026, renting out in about 19 days, with rents growing faster than most house rental markets nationally, around half are 3-bedroom.

House sales are close behind, with 107 sales (sharply up 59.7%) at around $610k (up 12.4%), taking about 21 days to sell (down from 27 days last year), one of Tasmania's most in-demand house markets, with 3-bedroom homes making up around 55%. Followed by 72 unit rentals at $490 a week (up sharply), one of the country's strongest unit rent gains. 34 unit sales at around $444k.
