Mackay property market

Most of Mackay's recent activity is unit rentals, with 182 leases (down 7.1%) at $475 a week (up 5.6%) as of July 2026, renting out in about 17 days (up from 14 days last year), with 2-bedroom dominating at around two-thirds.

Unit sales follow closely, with 143 sales (down 10.6%) at around $420k (up 19.7%), taking about 34 days to sell (up from 29 days last year), with prices growing faster than most unit markets nationally, around half are 2-bedroom. Then come 59 house sales at around $556k. 30 house rentals at $595 a week (one of the country's strongest house rent gains).
